Do small businesses need a headless CMS?
Headless sounds like something only big companies need. Here's when it genuinely pays off, and when it doesn't.

A headless CMS separates your content (the words, images and projects) from the website that displays it. That sounds abstract, so here's what it means in practice.
Where it pays off
- You publish often. Projects, case studies, blog posts and team updates are quick to add from any device.
- Speed matters. The site can be pre-rendered and cached, so it stays fast however much content you add.
- You want leads in one place. Enquiries from your website can land in the same dashboard you edit content in.
Where it's overkill
If your site is five pages that change once a year, a simpler setup will do the job and cost less to run.
The right question isn't "headless or not?" It's "how often will we change this, and who will do it?"
Our approach
For most of our clients we pair TanStack Start with Sanity: editors get a clean, tailored editing interface, and visitors get a fast site. If you'd like to see it in action, get in touch.
